COLUMBUS QUAY
This scheme is two miles from Liverpool City Centre on the banks of the River Mersey. It comprises of a number of elements:
Units A-F – The first phase of Columbus Quay comprised a new build office of 40,000 sq. ft. This is subdivided into six stand-alone office units. Tenants were secured and and all the units were initially retained as an investment. Subsequently, various units have been sold off to investors or owner-occupiers. The scheme was completed in 1989.
Curtin House – This is a stand-alone new build office of 6,000 sq. ft. which was pre-sold to the owner-occupier in December 1997.
GMB – This is a stand alone new office of 6,000 sq. ft. which was pre-sold to the owner-occupier in August 2000.
Jaguar House – The land was sold to Jaguar House, the Liverpool Jaguar dealership. The dealership wanted to use their own construction team to develop a car showroom.
Kung Chu Restaurant – An area of land was sold to a restauranteur. This has now been developed and operates as a very successful, highly regarded Chinese Restaurant.
Housing – The southern edge of the site was earmarked for housing. This was developed by Tay Homes into 100 units with benefits from a profit share arrangement. The housing was completed in November 1997.
