Work starts to refurbish Q-Park Queen Square in Liverpool
Work to refurbish Liverpool’s Queen Square car park is due to start July 2016 by new owner Q-Park UK. An investment of over £750,000 will improve the customer parking experience with a new entrance, improved lighting and signage.
Liverpool developer Promenade Estates sold the city centre car park operation in December 2015 to the international parking company, which operates throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.
The secure parking facility is located in the popular leisure destination Queen Square, which offers some of the best places to eat, drink and socialise in Liverpool and is just a stone’s throw away from some of the city’s top cultural attractions including Liverpool Empire Theatre, The Royal Court Theatre, World Museum Liverpool, Central Library, St George’s Hall and the Walker Art Gallery.
Q-Park prides itself on transforming facilities to maximise the customer parking experience. Due to be completed in November 2016, the improved car park will include a new entrance with secure sensor systems; full external and internal signage to improve wayfinding; redecorated lobby areas to make it look light, spacious and inviting; new parking equipment on all vehicle entrances and new pay-on-foot machines to make the facility more customer friendly.
The 601 space car park, spanning across 14 levels, will also benefit from Q-Park’s new loyalty and reward scheme, Q-Park Rewards. Customers will be able to pre-book parking in advance either online or via the mobile app, save money on future visits and receive exclusive offers for local retailers and restaurants.
The popular discounted rate of £2 for customers visiting the Liverpool Empire, Playhouse and Royal Court theatres will continue to apply.
Adam Bidder, Managing Director of Q-Park, says: “We are delighted to start the refurbishment of Q-Park Queen Square after only acquiring the car park earlier this year. The car park complements our Liverpool portfolio perfectly as it’s situated in the popular leisure area of Queen Square. We hope that the rejuvenation of the car park is well received by all Q-Parkers.”
Daniel Hynd, Director of Promenade Estates, says: “We are delighted Q-Park is investing in refurbishing the car park at Queen Square. The refurbishment work Q-Park is carrying out will secure the long-term success of the operation and continue to give visitors a convenient place to park when enjoying Liverpool’s many attractions.”
